Bring the kids into the kitchen for a gooey fun time making Chinese Christmas Trees. The crunchy, chewy treats are made with crispy Chow Mein noodles and melted marshmallows!
To make Chinese Christmas Trees
- Start by greasing a large glass bowl with cooking spray or oil. Put half a bag of marshmallows, 4 Tablespoons of butter, and a few drops of green food coloring into the bowl.
- Microwave at 30 second intervals until marshmallows are melted. Stir between intervals.
- Pour half a bag of Chow Mein Noodles into the hot, melted marshmallow.
- Quickly stir to coat the noodles thoroughly.
5. Now coat your fingers and palms REALLY well in butter. I’m talking make-Paula-Deen-proud kind of butter coating!!!! If you don’t, you will have a gooey mess! Just have a sacrificial stick of butter sitting on your counter and keep re-coating your hands between making each tree.
6. With your super buttered fingers, grab a small handful of the marshmallow chow mein and quickly shape into tree forms and set onto waxed paper. Microwave the mixture for a 20 seconds if it’s setting up too quickly.
7. Before the trees cool, sprinkle with decorative sugar sprinkles. and add a cinnamon dot to the tree top if desired.

These are great! I've seen them done with just milk chocolate, but never green & in Christmas tree form! So cute.
