Glass Float Summer Wreath

Decorating with rope is a hot trend right now and you all know how much I love my sisal rope! You’ve seen my projects using sisal rope on my Sisal Shade, my Textured Cones, and my in Sisal Obsession. So pairing rope and glass floats seemed like the perfect for a beautiful Glass Float Summer Wreath.

To make a

Glass Float Summer Wreath

you will need the following:

Straw wreath

sisal rope (any size you like)

Glass Floats (purchased or click here to make your own glass floats)

Straight pins & hot glue

Sea shells, starfish, sea glass, beach grass, or any other beachy décor you like.

Start wrapping your straw wreath with sisal rope. Easily secure the rope to the wreath with straight pins along the backside.

I used what I already had on hand. I had 2 different sizes of rope and alternated wrapping them around the wreath in wide bands.

After your wreath is wrapped with rope, decorate your wreath with starfish, shells, sea glass, and glass floats. For a step by step tutorial on how to make your own glass floats click here. Group and secure your glass floats together with twine and wrap around your wreath where desired. TIP: hang your wreath upright and THEN decorate it to ensure good visual balance and design.

Attach large starfish with stretchy, clear cording. It is virtually invisible and inexpensive. I purchased the cording at Michaels.

Group your sea shells, starfish, and glass floats along the bottom of the wreath. Tuck in pieces of colorful sea glass as filler around your starfish. Secure shells and glass with hot glue. You can find bags of manufactured sea glass at Pier One.
