After returning from a Caribbean vacation, my mind and body are in summer mode and are not happy to return to cold temps. Thankfully, warmer weather is right around the corner! If you are still stuck in the snow, maybe this project and post will help you look forward to the approaching Spring.
I love easy, yet beautiful, home décor crafts. Well, it doesn’t get any easier than this DIY Spring Wreath, which you can make in less than 20 minutes!
This is week 2 of our Countdown to Spring Party. The other blogs participating are My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia, Domestically Speaking, It’s So Very Cheri, and DIY Showoff. So if you are new here and are coming from one of my dear girlfriends’ blogs, then WELCOME! Hop over later and see what spring projects they have for you too!
Before we start the party, let me show you how to make the wreath.
Once you have gathered your items, cut apart the stems from the hydrangea floral bush so that you have 6 separate floral stems. Don’t cut them too short though. Simply insert the stems into the grapevine wreath. I inserted 4 of the stems in a down ward position and 2 of the stems at the bottom were inserted in the opposite direction, upward.
Cut off a few stems from the faux grass. You won’t be needed the whole bunch. Tuck the grass stems into the grapevine at each end of your blooms. Weave them in if are too loose or you could use a touch of hot glue if necessary.
Make a bow out of wired ribbon and tie it onto the wreath. The butterflies came on long floral wires. Trim off any unneeded wire and wire them on to your wreath. I used the extra wire to fasten the bow to the grapevine.
That’s all there is to it! You have a full and beautiful spring wreath for your front door that took you hardly any time to make!
Now are you ready for more springtime inspiration?
