Restoration Hardware Spring 2012 is Here

Some people have beautiful hardcover books wrapped in sleek, colorful jackets resting in neat stacks on their coffee table. My coffee table also has a neatly positioned stack, but it contains the Restoration Hardware Spring 2012 Source Book, the Outdoor Book, and the Special Edition of Big Style – Small Spaces. That is 4.5 pounds of freshly printed, high gloss design inspiration! In my opinion the coffee table eye candy is complete! Pour a cup of coffee and come sit with me as I show you a few pieces that made my eyes widen and my jaw drop!

My father had bought me a gyroscope when I was a child and I was fascinated at how it worked. So when I came across this Rope Planetarium Chandelier I was instantly drawn to the gyroscope influenced design. Of course you all know how much I love all décor items that use rope (just check out my DIY & Décor Tabs up top)! Restoration Hardware has an entire collection dedicated to jute rope wrapped lighting. The adjustable Circa 1900 Sculptor’s Table also caught my eye as a very practical and useful piece of furniture.

This spring you will see a continued resurgence of zinc, in table tops and accessories for both indoors and outdoors. They have a beautiful collection of zinc mirrors. The one pictured below is the European Zinc Dormer Mirror Fleur-de-lis.

Kick off your shoes and let your toes feel the plush softness of the raised diamond pattern on the Diamante Flatweave Linen Rug.

The Baroque Wood Crystal Chandelier gives a whimsical nod to the medieval wood and crystal chandeliers of Rococo Versailles. Restoration Hardware peeled back the layers of traditional thought, to reveal a bold approach in furniture design with their new Deconstructed Collection. The solid walnut collection showcases the inner beauty and old world artistry of the stripped down forms. I know this doesn’t fit my personal style, but I have to applaud them for thinking out of the box. Please notice the Sculptor’s table in the top picture is also present in this one! Those are two completely different styles and the yet the table looks like it was made specifically for each room! I love the versatility.

The Heirloom Silver Coffee Trunks make beautiful coffee tables and are fitted with interior storage.

I’m in love with the grand scale and distressed enameled metal of the 5-Foot French Tower Clock.

The Preserved Sea Fan with Ivory Mat is an impressive 61” wide! As much as I think this artwork is simply stunning, the price is out of my range. I do see a DIY project in the near future though!

Home bloggers have been showing the use of antique doors as headboards for quite some time now, and Restoration Hardware has come out with this towering Carved Door Headboard, complete with keyhole.

My mouth fell open in awe at their 1930’s Stainless Steel Laboratory Collection! This pieces in this collection are true to the originals even!

Let’s step outside shall we and look at a little outdoor living? Brass is back! Because I’m a child of the 70’s and 80’s where all was brassy and gilded gold, it will take me awhile to welcome back this trend. I just might be able grow accustomed to it, if I was lounging in this Mulholland Chase, just maybe. (wink)

Snuggle up and gather round the fire with this oh so chic and modern Laguna Concrete Propane Fire Table.

WOW is all I can say. This is an award winning sculptural Spartan Daybed. My kids took one look at immediately insisted we HAD to buy that. In your dreams children, or should I say in mommy’s dreams. Impressive isn’t it?

What I enjoy about Restoration Hardware is how they pull things out of their normal setting and place them into our homes as if they were meant to be there all along; taking the unexpected and making it work! Thanks for flipping through some pages of the new Source Book with me! Which is your favorite piece?

    1. Haha! I know how you feel, though I don't think any of our room will ever look quite like those do, but it's nice to take elements from it that you really love and work with the design that best fits your family. :)

    1. Hi Laura, I've gotten them for many years now, but I know if you visit a store, you can ask to be on their mailing list or you can sign up on their website.
